Museum Doors - Design to match originals, and fabricate Pair New white oak through mortise-and-tenon and diagonally beaded board overlay arched double doors, 5' x 7' x 4", with 2,000 forged nails with 1' hemispherical heads, finished and distressed to match original doors. Fabricate iron hardware to mount doors to new 12' x 12' solid oak post set into masonry, consisting of arched & straight strap hinges 4"x 1"thick x 46", with 2 1/2" Diam. pin.
Lower Sally Port Doors - Restore original double doors, with wicket, adding missing white oak diagonally beaded and vertical boards, replacing framing elements including portions of stiles and rails, with double through mortise-and-tenon joinery, and forged nails similar to museum doors. Bottom 1'- 2' of ca. 1825 doors were rotted away. Original hardware and forged nails restored where possible, replaced where not, similar to Museum Doors. Door size 5'x 10' x 6" thick, weight approximately 2,000 lbs./door. leaf. |
